Job Summary:
The Automotive Detail Technician Manager will oversee the daily operations of the detailing department, manage a team of detail technicians, and ensure that all detailing services are performed to the highest standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of automotive detailing processes, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
Supervise, mentor, and train a team of automotive detail technicians.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance technician skills and knowledge.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Schedule and manage shifts to ensure adequate coverage and efficiency.
Operational Oversight:
Oversee daily operations of the detailing department to ensure quality and efficiency.
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for detailing services.
Monitor and manage inventory of detailing products and equipment.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Quality Control:
Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and completed work to ensure it meets company standards.
Address and resolve any issues or complaints related to detailing services.
Implement and monitor quality control processes to maintain high service standards.
Customer Service:
Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing customer needs and concerns in a professional manner.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
Reporting and Administration:
Prepare and maintain reports on departmental performance, including productivity, quality, and customer feedback.
Analyze performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
Manage departmental budgets and track expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Process Improvement:
Evaluate and recommend new products, tools, and techniques to improve efficiency and service quality.
Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the detailing process.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to ensure the department remains competitive.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Proven experience in automotive detailing, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
In-depth knowledge of automotive detailing techniques, products, and equipment.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Ability to analyze performance metrics and make data-driven decisions.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in automotive detailing or management is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings.
