MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) ---Students from the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee got a huge back-to-school surprise Tuesday morning with the help of a football legend.

Packers Hall of Famer, Super Bowl champ, and four-time Pro Bowler Donald Driver helped gift nearly 200 students with brand new laptops and backpacks full of school supplies.

The surprise giveaway took place at the Ready Center. This was all made possible by a partnership between AT&T, Human IT, and the Donald Driver Foundation. "We're excited to help Milwaukee students connect to greater possibilities," said Robyn Gruner, director of external affairs for AT&T Wisconsin.

"Some of these families don't even have computers," said Driver. He also talked about the importance of these resources to help support kids in the community.

"Back in the day, when I grew up, if you needed a computer, you had to go to the library," he said. Jaiden Alvarado-Jones, a student at Rufus King, was one of the recipients of a laptop and spoke during the presentation. He says he's grateful for the investment in his future. "Definitely a cool opportunity for the city of Milwaukee – the youth of Milwaukee," he said.

Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley were also in attendance for the big surprise.

In addition to the laptops and school supplies, AT&T also donated $40,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee to support digital literacy programs.
