Milwaukee Brewers testing a relaunch of new parking system
It comes after some connectivity issues plagued its initial rollout back on Opening Day.
The Milwaukee Brewers are giving their new parking system another try after connectivity issues shut down the initial rollout back on Opening Day. "We are currently testing a relaunch of the new parking process in select parking lots," a Brewers spokesperson told WISN 12 News. "This process has been ongoing throughout the last week."One of those select parking lots is the Molitor lot, located north of Interstate 94. WISN 12 News stopped by some of the rainy tailgates ahead of Thursday afternoon's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. "We have our uncooked brats here. We'll see how that works out," Glenn Sasveld, of Illinois, said. "You think we're going to grill?" his son Lucas Sasveld responded while ducking under their trunk to stay dry. One of the biggest differences with the new system is there are no ticket-takers at the parking lot entrance. Fans just drive straight to their parking spot. Fans in the Molitor lot then had to use their smartphones to scan a nearby QR code and either activate their prepaid parking passes or purchase one right on the spot. "My phone isn't always a smartphone, so I was worried if it wouldn't work and what would I do. But got online and scanned it and said I need your license plate number, so I had to get out, get my license plate number and come back," Cheryl Bartle of New Glarus said. "It would be very nice if it wasn't raining. It was really smooth," her sister Lori Arndt added. Depending on the lot, fans may encounter this new system as the team continues to test it, but right now, the Brewers do not yet have a date for the official ballpark-wide relaunch.
